I believe you will be challenged and inspired by by the testimonies of these men and women who have been a light for Christ to a lost world. Their stories are wonderful reminders of God's goodness and His miraculous provision in dark times - both then and now. They have certainly had a profound impact on my spiritual walk throughout the years.
For April we are reading Through Gates of Splendor by Elisabeth Elliot, the story of five young missionaries who gave their lives for the Auca Indians in 1956. Mrs. Elliot was the widow of Jim Elliot, the leader of this brave expedition.
For those of you who like to plan ahead, in May we will be readingEvidence Not Seen by Darlene Deibler Rose, the testimony of a young woman who survived four years in a Japanese prison camp in the 1940's.
Then in June and July we will read A Chance To Die, also by Elisabeth Elliot, the story of Amy Carmichael who spent most of her life as a missionary to India in the early 1900's.
I pray you will be blessed by these testimonies of God's faithfulness.
Walking with you,
Lisa/Mrs. J
